Multiple Head Cutting
The Farley Nautilus cutting with 6 heads.
With multiple head cutting we are able to offer our customers high volume water jet cutting in a timely manner. Our current water jet machine has the ability to cut with up to six heads simultaneously, the new machine will also have the ability to cut with six heads. Multiple head cutting creates time and cost savings by cutting the same amount of parts as a single cutting head would in a fraction of the time. Using multiple cutting heads to waterjet cut large quantities of parts allows for a lower cost per part since the overall cut time is reduced when another head is used to cut. For example by cutting with 2 heads instead of 1 head the actual cutting time is reduced by 50%, this will not cut costs by 50%, since there is additional setup involved in configuring multiple heads and the consumables are being used at a higher rate than single head cutting. Multiple head cutting is most effective when there are large quantites of the same part being cut.
